Assessment - Practitioner Course ONLY
There is no assessment for the Introductory, Foundation or Advanced courses.
Purton House follows a programme of continual assessment for the Practitioner Course ONLY and does not set exams. We assess in a variety of different ways including:
- Assignment
- Case analysis
- Remedy portfolios
- Worksheets including Practitioner development workshops
- Reflective work
- Supervision feedback
We also believe in the value of peer assessment and encourage the students to share work (via the web site) and to learn from one another's strengths and mistakes. This aids individual learning and encourages group support. In the final stages of the course, students are required to take ten supervised cases, which are assessed throughout, and to complete a project as approved by the college.
To undertake all of the assessment of the practitioner course, do the necessary background reading and attend teaching clinics students need to plan about 15 hours study time per six hours of lecture material.
