homeopathic remedies
Homeopathic remedies are made from highly diluted substances from the animal, mineral and plant kingdoms and come in a number of strengths known as potencies.
- The most common potencies are 6c, 30c, 200c and 1000c (1M). The potency is related to the amount of dilution of the remedy although it is an inverse relationship i.e. the more you dilute a remedy the stronger it becomes.
- Your homeopath will give you a remedy, usually in the form of a tablet but sometimes in liquid form.
- The remedy will be given to you to dissolve under the tongue and nothing (food or drink) else should be put in to the mouth for 20 minutes before or after taking the remedy.
- Whilst having homeopathic treatment you should avoid coffee, menthol, peppermint (including toothpastes), nasal drops, antiseptics, mouthwashes, liniments, laxatives, chest rubs, inhalations, lipsalves or any strong smelling substance such as eucalyptus and camphor - this is because they will spoil the effect of most homeopathic remedies.
- All homeopathic remedies are made using natural substances and cannot cause addictions or dependence.
